DRAGNET RULES
These rules must be read through before departure from Base Camp and
any questions resolved with a Dragnet Official prior to departure.

1. Teams have THREE lives represented by LIFE CARDS. Upon capture the FIRST LIFE CARD should be surrendered, followed by the SECOND and THIRD LIFE CARDS when caught a second or third time.

2. A team is regarded as caught if any member of the team is touched by a searcher. On surrender of a LIFE CARD the searcher will fill in the caught time on the next LIFE CARD, from which time you will be allowed to proceed without being caught for ONE HOUR. This applies until 09.30am on Sunday, after which time teams are at the mercy of searchers. After being caught for the third time teams must proceed to Base Camp and book in.

3. After being dropped off at the start point teams will have ONE HOUR ONLY to disperse, before searchers start catching and taking LIVES.

4. All teams must wear a coloured band at all times, it should be around the neck and shoulder as a sash and be clearly visible at all times including while waiting to be picked up once caught. Likewise all searchers will wear a sash of a different colour and should be asked to produce a VALID searchers card at the time of capture to prove their identity and validity before surrendering any LIFE CARD.

5. Teams must at all times keep within the boundaries shown on the map and may not enter the finish area and campsite prior l0.30am Sunday. ANY breach of these and other rules will not only result in your own teams disqualification but may result in the withdrawal of your unit as a whole from both this and future Dragnet competitions.

6. Teams must keep together at all times. If they wish to drop out due to illness, injury or else having lost all lives they must inform base using the emergency telephone number before making their way back or arranging a pick up. Please always inform base of any problems so as to help them in any dealings with emergency services, complaints or to set up funeral arrangements! Also for driver safety reasons could non essential calls to the emergency number be kept outside the hours of 00.30 to 07.00 am as far as possible.

7. Full kit must be carried at all times up to 8.00am Sunday when it may be dropped prior to the final break being made. Teams are responsible for recovery of their own kit.

8. Teams must arrive at the finish after 10.30 and before 12.00 Sunday morning. The winners of the event being the team that arrives at the Base Camp Check In Point nearest to 11.00 with the highest number of lives intact.

9. The finish area will be clearly defined and marked and once entered on the Sunday morning you must proceed together as a team to the check in immediately. Please make sure you are aware of the boundaries before you leave on Friday night.

10. Please respect private property and observe the country code at all times avoiding noise and disturbance to local residents especially in rural areas and at night.

11. Teams must report their location to base by phone between 2 and 5pm on Saturday. This is a safety precaution and any team not complying will be disqualified. This info of course will not be given to Search Teams.

12. In the event of a dispute the organisers decision is final.
